National Safe + Sound Week August 13-19, 2018

Safe + Sound Week is a nationwide event organized by the US Department of Labor. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has already published a YouTube Webinar that explains the Safe + Sound campaign, tools & resources available, and how to participate. The goal is to raise awareness of the value of safety and health programs in the workplace. These include management leadership, staff participation, and a systematic approach to finding and fixing hazards in workplaces. There are even 23 International Participants which highlights the importance of workplace safety across the globe.

Who should participate

Organizations of any size or in any industry are encouraged to participate. Safety and health programs can proactively identify and manage hazards before they can cause a workplace injury or illness. OSHA has published a handy guide entitled Safe + Sound Week For Any Schedule.

How to Participate

This map of the United States includes links to events happening in every state. There are even some virtual events including such topics as Ergonomics: Correct Work Posture and Your Quick Start Guide to Safety and Health Management.

Patient Safety in Healthcare

Specific to the Healthcare industry, Patient Safety is always a top priority. Patient Safety is concerned with how hospitals protect their patients from errors, injuries, accidents, and infections. The Safe + Sound campaign is promoting not only patient safety but employee safety. At NHS Solutions, we have a pool of highly qualified Patient Safety, Quality, Risk Management & Compliance Interim Leaders. These senior Interim Healthcare Leaders are ready to step into a leadership gap and quickly respond to hospitals’ needs in these areas, allowing them the time needed to find a permanent candidate.

Contact us now if you are experiencing a need at your facility or upload your resume, set up a time to talk to our recruiting department and see if an Interim Healthcare Leadership role in patient safety is right for you.
