NHS Solutions seeks an experienced Interim Manager of Pharmacy for our client in the New England area. The Manager will oversee the day to day operation and monitoring of the 340b drug purchasing program for all contract pharmacies and in-house pharmacies. The Manager will serve as the primary auditor for the covered entity and will work with all related vendors. The Manager will be a subject matter expert concerning HRSA requirements, updates, program changes and audits. The Manager will work with the Director of Pharmacy and the Compliance department and Risk Management insuring program integrity, appropriate inventory control and drug replacement for qualified patients and practitioners.


  • Qualifies patient status and practitioner status, thus allowing for prescription authorization under the 340b program
  • Insure appropriate billing and drug replacement under the 340b program, thus providing for the lowest patient cost possible
  • Insures that indigent patients will be offered pharmaceutical service
  • Allows for inpatients and outpatients to have access to prescription service


  • Ensures qualifications for the program are met and maintained
  • The program is fully implemented and the related records are accurate and complete
  • Maintains up to date policies and procedures on 340b process
  • Provides for staff training and updates on the program
  • Audits records to maintain compliance with HRSA
  • Insures appropriate compliance to waste rules and regulations
  • Tracks purchases of GPO, 340b and WAC to optimize program savings
  • Assists with staff training and updates
  • Audits and maintains specialty pharmaceutical utilization
  • Insures appropriate billing for all patient groups
  • Accurately tracks 340b billing software issues, investigates and provides solutions


  • 5 years of pharmacy related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or pharmacy related field, Master’s degree preferred
  • Current pharmacy technician registration (Ct.) and certification, or pharmacist registration
  • Prior working experience in pharmacy purchasing or inventory management in a hospital or clinic setting
  • Experience with the 340b program regulatory and billing/coding compliance
  • Proficient with MS office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Word, Access)
