NHS Solutions has an immediate opening for an experienced Interim Nurse Leader in Risk and Patient Safety. Our client seeks a candidate with a strong background in clinical risk with the ability to develop Pro-Active Risk Mitigation Event Reporting. The Interim Director, Patient Safety and Risk serves as the Patient Safety Officer and is responsible for directing and coordinating the development, implementation and maintenance of patient safety initiatives, including organizing a Clinical Pro-Active Program to support clinical staff, educate and provide good documentation. This position will report to our Chief Quality Officer/VP.

The key component of this position is the Risk/Patient Safety side of Quality. This is not a regulatory role.
Key Qualifications:
  • RN license
  • Master’s degree
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM)
  • Minimum eight (8) years of progressive healthcare experience
  • Proven leadership experience, preferably at the Director Level; project management skills and experience; ability to devise, test, and deliver materials
  • Proven project management, analytical, presentation, organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Minimum three (3) years of acute-care nursing experience
  • Previous experience in Quality or Performance Improvement

    • 5 years as a Medical Social Worker; and 1 year of which must have been in a lead/supervisory role
    • Pro-active, strong problem-solving skills
    • Well versed in CMS, Title 22 rehab, and SNF regulations
    • Skilled in working with and teaching others in helping patients & family adjust to new health conditions and decision-making
